Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of dolomitic lime on growth of heliconia (Heliconia Heliconia psittacorum L. x spathocircinata Arist.) Cv. Golden Torch, cultured in medium textured Oxisol in Belém, through dasvariáveis biometric and dry mass of leaves, pseudostem, roots, air, full and part relationship between the dry weight of shoot and root dry mass. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse at Embrapa Amazônia Oriental, Belém-PA, using medium textured Oxisol as substrate, collected from the 0-20 cm layer. And the control without lime were tested four doses of concealer, t / ha, which were: 0.9; 2.6; 4.2; and 5.9. After weighing 20 kg of soil was made of dolomitic limestone incubation according to the treatment for 72 days and the saturation humidity maintained at 60%. In planting a rhizome with pseudostem per pot, measuring about 15 cm was used. The experimental design was completely randomized with five treatments and five replications, totaling 25 experimental units. It was concluded that liming did not promote beneficial effect on plant growth of heliconia (Heliconia Heliconia psittacorum L. x spathocircinata Arist.) Cv. Golden Torch in Oxisoil medium texture.
