TREE SPECIES OF HEADQUARTERS EASTERN AMAZON EMBRAPA: CONSERVAÇÃ0 EX SITU AND A NEW AREA OF ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION IN BETHLEHEM

Abstract

Campus area headquarters of Embrapa Amazônia Oriental is a unique space in the Metropolitan Region of Belém (PA) due to house part of the watershed that supplies the city and have this significant remnants of the original forest ecosystem guajarino estuary. This work captures the importance of trees associated with this built campus area, which has more potential to act as a living collection aimed at environmental education. From a survey conducted in ulnar area of approximately 25 ha, 144 species, 114 genera and 37 families, with a total of 1254 individuals were recorded. Among six subareas inventoried, the so-called "B" and "F", because they are more diversified, should be given priority in conservation efforts and environmental education.
