Abstract

The purpose of this is traba1ho evaluate the effect of four planting spacings (30x30 cm, 50x50 cm, 50x70 cm, 30x50x70 cm) on arthropods associated with Ageratum conyzoides well as the dry matter production of the plant. Herbivores observed, stood out by A. gossypii higher density and economic significance in many cultures, causing engruvinhamento leaves of A. conyzoides. It was noted minor attack of aphids on plants using the spacing of 30 x 50 x 70 cm compared to the others. Moreover, it was found that A. conyzoides plants cultivated in 50 x 70 cm showed a higher density of nonglandular trichomes and lower percentage of broken trichomes compared to other treatments. A. conyzoides leaves, on average, showed 87.17% of trichomes simple type long unbranched. In general, aphids and kitties attacked the adaxial face and whitefly, thrips and mites abaxial face of the leaves, located in the apical part of the plant canopy. The leaves of A. conyzoides located in the apical part had become more hairy, both as glandular trichomes, than in the other thirds of the canopy, the opposite being observed for the percentage of broken trichomes. The glandular trichomes were more abundant in the upper face, being located mainly near the leaf veins. The increased dry (t / ha) was observed in the field spacing 50 x 50 cm (12.5) compared with the 30 x 30cm (8.4), 50 x 70cm (6.9) and 30 x 50 x 70 cm (4.8).
