POPULATION STRUCTURE maçaranduba (Manilkara huberi Standley) IN 84 ha DE FLORE STA NATURAL FARM IN RIVER GRASS, PARAGOMINAS, Pa
Abstract
An analysis of the population structure of Manilkara huberi Standley, corn information on botany, ecology and commercial importance of the species was made. The study was conducted in 84 ha of River Grass Farm, owned by Brazil Cikel Verde Madeiras Ltda., Paragominas, PA. An inventory was done at 100% intensity, measuring trees with DBH ≥ 45 cm of the species. Identification of trees, measurement of DBH and visual assessment of stem quality was made. We calculated the abundance, dominance, volume and diameter distribution. The species had a stock of approximately 0.7 arvore.ha-1, corresponding to 0.32 m2.ha-1 and volume of 0.72 m3.ha-1 This represented in all diameter classes, with the highest concentration of individuals the diametric interval 45-84 cm. It was observed that 89% of the trees have maçaranduba straight, well formed and flawless stems; 9% had some defects, with only 4 m of usable length; and only 2% of the trees have damaged, rotten or greater than 45 ° incline shafts. The species showed well distributed in size classes and occurs in abundance in the study area stock.Downloads
