Fruit flies and their parasitoids in cajazeira in the city of Teresina- PI
Abstract
The fruit flies are responsible for major losses in fruit-growing worldwide, considered thus one of the main pests of this activity. This work aims to identify the species of fruit flies and their parasitoids associated with the cajazeira (Spondias mombin L.) in Teresina, Piauí. During the period from March to May 2013 were carried out fortnightly collections of fruit cajazeira the experimental orchard of the Federal University of Piauí. Infestation indices were calculated of fruit and parasitism, pupal viability, frequency tephritids and parasitoids. Collected a total of 8.935 kg of fruit, from which was obtained 1,643 pupae with emergency 615 insects, 468 tephritids all the Anastrepha obliqua species and 127 individuals of braconidae family, species Doryctobracon areolatus. The Cajazeira was confirmed as natural repository of A. obliqua in the region. A. obliqua and D. areolatus was the only parasitoid registered for A. obliqua in Teresina, Piauí.
