Abstract

The guarana [ Paullinia cupana var . sorbilis ( Mart. ) Ducke ] is one of the most important agricultural products in the state of Amazonas , being necessary to deploy a production system with low environmental and economic impact , mainly targeting small farmers in the region . For this, an experiment with three clones guarana ( 871 CMU , CMU 300 and CMU 612 ) grown under field conditions in Manaus , State of Amazonas , over a Yellow Oxisol ( Oxisol ) with 696 g kg - 1 clay was performed . The experimental design was a confounding 33 , with three doses of charcoal ( 0 , 800 and 1600 kg ha - 1 ), three chicken manure ( 0 , 2720 and 5440 kg ha - 1 ) and three bone meal and meat ( 0 , 80 and 160 kg ha - 1 ) . The CMU 871 clone proved to be the most promising for growing inside the system used . In all three clones , the highest yields were obtained with guarana use 1600 kg ha - 1 of charcoal, 2720 kg ha - 1 of chicken manure and 160 kg ha - 1 of bone and meat meal . At conditions studied , the amount applied to cover charcoal did not affect soil fertility and nutritional status of guarana .
