Incompatibility grafting base with tangerine € ™ â € ~Cleópatraâ on citrus in the Central Amazon, Amazonas State
Abstract
In plants of sweet orange 'Pera-Rio' and acid 'Tahiti' lime (Citrus spp.) Grafted on 'Cleopatra' mandarin, we observed necrosis of the graft point, the death of plants and nuts. Aiming to detect the causes of changes in rootstock incompatibility that led to grafting, we performed a comparative anatomical study between plants with and without symptoms plants grafted on Rangpur lime also evaluated the nutritional status and soil fertility of orchards. Necrotic processes caused by vascular discontinuity between the canopy and rootstock were the main factors leading to loss of productivity and fruit quality. The incompatibility between rootstock and canopy orange 'Pera-Rio' or acid lime 'Tahiti' entails nutritional disorder that is unrelated to the low soil fertility in the region. Results indicated problems in the use of 'Cleopatra' as rootstock at conditions in Central Amazonia.Downloads
