First report of black Sigatoka in Northeast Pará

Abstract

Summary: The Black Sigatoka, caused by Mycosphaerella fijiensis, is reported in banana plants in Northeast Pará. The disease had been found in the municipalities of Pará Almeirim, Porto de Moz, and Oriximiná Medicilândia. In Brazil, the disease was not officially registered only in the states of Goiás, Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo, Tocantins and the Northeast states.
